BELMAS is offering a new award in 2017.
The Reflective Practice Award is open to those in leadership roles in schools, colleges and universities who are able to demonstrate leadership of an innovation in an educational setting which has made a significant contribution to the development of an organisation.
Candidates must demonstrate evidence of critical reflection on their leadership actions and provide evidence of their impact on practice.

- The opportunity to be included in a BELMAS publication of leadership in practice in addition to other opportunities for dissemination.
The Award is open to all members of BELMAS who are practitioners in schools, colleges or higher education. BELMAS members are encouraged to nominate practitioners to be considered for the award. Applications are invited from individuals or teams who may be resident anywhere in the world.
The innovation demonstrated in the application may be in the UK or overseas.
Submissions should be made by the candidate (the practitioner or lead member of a team) or a nominator.
Applications must be made using the online form provided. Candidates should outline, in English, a written summary of their leadership of an innovation in an educational setting in no more than 500 words. The summary should cover the nature of the evidence they would submit in a full submission if shortlisted through to the next stage.
Shortlisted applicants will subsequently be asked to produce a paper, written in English, of no more than 2,500 words, describing the innovation and its impact in greater detail.
The winner of the award will be encouraged to attend the 2017 BELMAS Annual Conference to run a workshop on their innovation. BELMAS will meet the cost of the conference fee for the day, including lunch and refreshments. The workshop will be scheduled for Saturday 8th July 2017.
