Call for Conference Reviewers

Expressions of interest are invited from BELMAS members to join our Review Panel for the 2020 Annual Conference. Volunteer reviewers will be asked to indicate a preference to review abstracts from the following categories:

  • Completed Research Related to Conference Theme
  • Ongoing Project with Some Completed Data
  • Critical Discourse Analysis in Educational Research or Critical Overview of Issues Related to Conference Theme
  • Practitioners Perspective of Education Policy and Sustainability

These preferences will be noted when allocations are made, but reviewers can expect to be allocated abstracts from other categories too. Although membership of the Review Panel does not confer an entitlement to attend the confer

Eligibility

Any BELMAS member may volunteer for consideration as a peer reviewer. Peer reviewers need to have a relevant and substantive background and expertise and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the field and emerging literature. Successful applicants will either demonstrate research expertise of doctoral degree level or above, or will have recent experience of senior leadership at an educational establishment.

Applications

Applications are invited by email to info@belmas.org.uk and must include a CV and a statement of no more than 350 words outlining relevant expertise and experience. The deadline for applications is 20th December 2019.

Applicants will be notified early in the New Year and the abstract review period will be from 26th January to 23rd February 2020.

BELMAS adheres to a double blind review process and reviewers will be given access to the online system, which provides evaluation criteria and guidance on the scoring method.

Reviewers will be required to abide by BELMAS’ conflict of interest policy and excuse themselves from evaluating a submission where necessary.

Selected volunteers can expect to evaluate up to 20 abstracts of up to 400 words each. Serving on the review panel is a selective process and merits recognition.
