Happy New Year from BELMAS

31.12.20

As this strange and difficult year draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to wish you all a safe and happy New Year. We hope it brings you good health, happiness, opportunity and, with any luck, a sense of much-needed normality.

2021 is a big one for us and we would like to invite you along as we celebrate 50 incredible years of BELMAS! We are thrilled to have reached this milestone and we couldn’t be more excited for what the next year holds for the Society and our members. To celebrate, we’ll be hosting a year’s worth of exciting events, which we’d love you to join us for!

The first of these events is an online symposium with a panel made up of BELMAS’ Executive Members and Council. This will take place on Wednesday 13th January, at 6pm GMT.

The symposium will centre on Educational Leadership and will feature an interactive discussion with our panel on this year’s Annual Conference theme, ‘50 years of BELMAS: Celebrating the Past and Looking Forward’. The panel will consist of BELMAS Chair, Ian Potter, BELMAS President, Tony Bush, and Editor-In-Chief of Management in Education, Jacqueline Baxter. BELMAS Conference Chair, Victoria Showunmi, will host the event, with Immediate Past Chair, Rehana Shanks, joining.

This event is free, but if you would like to contribute, we invite you to donate to our chosen charity of 2021, #TogetherBand, which is a worldwide movement with a mission to share the UN’s 17 global goals through creativity and culture.

In addition to all of this, expect more #BELMASchats, more from our Research Interest Groups and some exciting new projects, from the blog and beyond, to help keep our global community connected and growing.

Our weekly newsletter will be back in your inbox from the 8th January, with all the latest BELMAS news and updates. Until then, we want to thank you for your continued support and wish you all the very best for the New Year.

See you soon,
Richard, Kelly, Rachael and Nicola
