Nominations for Council Elections


BELMAS Council comprises 9 elected members, each elected for a period of 3 years and retiring in rotation.In addition, there are 5 Executive officers: Chair, Vice Chair, Immediate Past Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary. The Chair, Vice Chair and Immediate Past Chair are appointed on the recommendation of Council. All Council members and officers automatically become Directors and Trustees of the Society.

There are two vacancies on Council for which nominations are invited. Any BELMAS member is eligible to stand for election to Council. In addition, BELMAS members may wish to stand for the roles of Honorary Secretary or Honorary Treasurer.

Completed nomination forms, including a short statement from the nominee, must be submitted by email to the BELMAS Office by Sunday 12th July 2020 at the latest.

The Trustees' written report for 2019 and nominated candidate statements will be made available in advance of the elections.

The annual elections for Council will take place at 6pm on Friday 18th September 2020 at the Society's Annual General Meeting. As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, elections will be conducted by proxy voting.
