Thesis Award - How to nominate

Nominations are now closed

Each year, BELMAS invites submissions for its annual prize for the best doctoral thesis. This award is made to the individual whose thesis is deemed by the Selection Panel to have made the most important contribution to our understanding of educational leadership and/or management and/or policy.

BELMAS Conference 2017 will take place at Ettington Chase, Stratford-on-Avon from 7-9th July and the winner and runner up will be invited to make a presentation at the Conference in addition to receiving an award and their accommodation and registration fee will be paid by BELMAS.

Only theses awarded by a university in the United Kingdom will be considered. Candidates will normally be nominated by their supervisors and must be members of BELMAS at the time of nomination. For the 2017 award, eligible theses are those either conferred or officially notified between 1st September 2015 and 31st December 2016. Candidates will normally be nominated by their supervisors and must be members of BELMAS at the time of nomination (immediate online membership available - free for the first year).

The candidate must email or post an abstract of the thesis to BELMAS. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit an electronic copy of their full thesis during March 2017. The closing date for 2017 nominations was 27th January 2017.
