Dr Ray Chatwin

Ray is a Senior Lecturer and course leader for the MEd Educational Leadership at the University of Gloucestershire. He has taught in primary and secondary schools and colleges in England, Finland, Germany and Jamaica. He was co-ordinator of the Schools In-Service Unit, Birmingham LA for nine years and a director of SISU Professional Ltd, a Leadership and Management training company based on the Selly Oak campus of the University of Birmingham, for twelve years. He has run leadership courses and carried out consultancies in over 200 schools throughout England and Wales. Ray has worked on postgraduate programmes for international students at the University of Birmingham, where he was a course director, and also at Aston University. Ray has also worked on the Leicester University MBA and MSc programmes in educational leadership and Open University MA programmes on Curriculum, Learning and Assessment, Educational Management and Small-Scale Research into School Management. Ray’s published work includes papers on CPD, second language learning, race and education, school effectiveness and improvement, middle leadership and senior leadership team effectiveness. He is an external examiner for Leeds Metropolitan University.
