International & Comparative Education

We would like to welcome all BELMAS members to this RIG as a place where we can study and practice educational leadership in international and comparative education for a better, and more just world. Whether we work in international schools, transnational educational spaces, or as guests in other nations, we are often exposed to remarkable practices and behaviours that challenge our professionalism, and our very idea of what it is to be a teacher and leader. With members often far from home, and in deeply political expat bubbles, or embedded in foreign institutions, it is important to have a professional forum which maintains and celebrates the ethics and standards of educational leadership for a better planet. This RIG is focused upon facilitating notable education, in a rapidly changing world and the leadership support required to do it.

RIG members include all those who work in educational organisations and consider international and comparative education relevant to their work, research or scholarship, past present or future. We are composed of networks of researching professionals who want to examine major educational issues, and do that with a global outlook, and in partnership with professional researchers in higher education

Benefits from participation will include:

•       Participation from a diverse and dynamic network that is focused on promoting international educational leadership as a force for good.

•       Access to the most up to date intellectual work and research on policy scholarship in international and comparative educational leadership.

•       Contributions to developing a critical and intellectual understanding of approaches and policymaking in international educational leadership.

•       Development of market savvy, but socially just methodologies and methods to support professional practice and primary research.

•       Access to BELMAS professionals and scholars from all around the world foregrounding collegiality, and collaborative practice.
