Exciting News from EMAL and MIE


We’re thrilled to announce two exciting new appointments from Management in Education and EMAL.


Paul Armstrong will be taking over from Jacqueline Baxter as the new Editor-in Chief of Management in Education. Paul is the Senior Lecturer in Educational Leadership and Management at the Manchester Institute of Education, University of Manchester. His work focuses on contemporary forms of educational leadership and management, with particular focus on the means by which schools and organisations are managed and resourced. In addition, he is a trustee for the Institute of School Business Professionals in England. You can find out more about Paul here.

We’d like to extend our congratulations to Megan Crawford, who has been appointed as the new Deputy Editor of EMAL. Megan is a Professor at the Centre for Global Learning, Education and Attainment at Coventry University, as well as being the Chair of a Multi-Academy Trust. In 2020, she was awarded the title of Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS) in recognition of her contribution to the Social Sciences, and she has been a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching since 2019. You can read more about Megan here.
Megan will be working alongside EMAL Editor-in-Chief and BELMAS President, Tony Bush, to manage the operational work of the journal. We wish Megan all the best in her new role and look forward to working with her.
