This session of the BELMAS Research Interest Group on Race & Leadership aims to open debate and stimulate discussion about race and/in education at all levels. In particular, it aims to discuss and debate the range of factors that have an impact on the experience of BME students at different levels of the UK’s education system. Through this session we also hope to generate ideas for new research agendas in race and education that can influence policy as well as contribute to a body of literature in the UK on race and educational leadership.
By bringing together academics, postgraduate students and practitioners and those with an interest in race and education/ educational leadership, we hope that you find this a stimulating and topical debate.
Confirmed speakers: Marilyn Holness, OBE, (University of Roehampton); Dr Geeta Ludhra (Brunel University London); and Dr Shamim Miah (University of Huddersfield).
