BELMAS AGM 2026 & DFAB: ‘In Conversation With…’ – Event Summary

The BELMAS Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 and the Distinguished Fellows Advisory Board (DFAB) ‘In Conversation With… session took place online via Zoom on Tuesday 14th July 2026, bringing together BELMAS members for an afternoon of governance, reflection, and professional dialogue.


Event Overview

The event was held exclusively for BELMAS members and ran from 12.00pm to 2.00pm (UK time). Participants joined online for the AGM, followed by the DFAB ‘In Conversation With…’ event.


BELMAS Annual General Meeting 2026

The AGM provided an important opportunity for the Trustee Board to demonstrate transparency and accountability to the membership.

During the meeting, attendees:

  • Received the audited accounts for 2025.
  • Heard updates on BELMAS affiliations and membership subscriptions.
  • Considered annual reports from across the organisation.

Members had been invited to submit questions in advance, which were addressed by the Trustee Board during the meeting where appropriate.

DFAB: ‘In Conversation With…’

Following the AGM, BELMAS hosted a Distinguished Fellows Advisory Board event, ‘In Conversation With… Professor Steve Courtney’.

The session featured Professor Steve Courtney, incoming Chair of BELMAS and Chair of the DFAB, in conversation with Professor Helen Gunter, former DFAB Chair. Their discussion reflected on leadership, scholarship, and the future direction of BELMAS, offering attendees valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the educational leadership community.

Members had also been invited to submit questions in advance, enabling the discussion to address issues of particular interest to the BELMAS community.
