Berni Moreno is a lecturer in educational leadership in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) at The University of Melbourne, where she divides her time between teaching, researching and leadership and service. She holds a master’s in educational leadership as well as a Doctoral degree in Education from MGSE.
Her various roles in the course of her professional employment as a secondary teacher and middle leader brought the issues of school leadership and succession sharply into focus and were significant in shaping her doctoral research on the relationship between principal succession, new principals and teachers’ work environment. Berni is interested in leadership that is required to foster, advance and sustain school improvement. She is a regular presenter at international conferences, has published articles and is also a reviewer for a number of academic journals.
