Dr Catherine A. SimonCo-Opted Member of the Board
Catherine is currently a co opted member of BELMS Council until January 2024, supporting Ryan and the team in the revision of policies and updating the constitution. She has served two full terms on Council, with oversight of BELMAS publications. She also sits on the editorial boards of both EMAL and MiE. She is co-convenor of the Structural Reform RiG with Dr Mark Gibson.
Catherine’s principal research interests concern English Education Policy. She enjoys writing for publication and her latest book, co-edited with Deb Outhwaite, brings the study of leadership and management to undergraduate students of Education Studies. Leadership and Management for Education Studies, published by Routledge, is due out in June 2023. She finds great value in supporting new writers to showcase their work and continues to supervise MA and PhD students.
When not engaged in academic work, Catherine has recently taken up watercolour portraiture with modest success!
