ECR Month – How to (Co-)Publish as an Early Career Researcher in Educational Leadership

As part of our ECR Month line up this coming March, we invite you to ‘How to (Co-)Publish as an Early Career Researcher in Educational Leadership’, a joint event with WERA, Chaired by Meng Tian and Weilin Yan.

Publishing can feel daunting when you are still developing your academic voice, building confidence, and learning how the publishing process works. This interactive webinar, offers an honest and practical conversation about how early career researchers can navigate (co-)publication with supervisors and gradually develop greater independence as researchers.

Meng and Weilin will share their experiences of co-publishing a journal article and a book chapter as a supervisor and a PhD student, including how to identify a publishable idea, develop a paper collaboratively, negotiate roles and authorship, respond to reviewer feedback, and build the skills and confidence needed for ECRs to publish more independently.

Rather than a one-way presentation, the webinar will be highly dialogical, with opportunities for the audience to ask questions, share experiences, and discuss the challenges you are currently facing. Come along for practical tips, reflections, and an open conversation about making publishing a meaningful part of your research journey.
