We invite you to the next online event from the International and Comparative Educational Leadership Research Interest Group (ICE RIG), entitled: ‘New leadership knowledge in international contexts; The Power of Early Career Research’.
Researching internationally is complex, difficult and expensive. Much research in the past attempts to sidestep these issues with surveys or questionnaires. On site work is expensive, particularly if it is comparative, and there is little incentive to conduct it beyond marketing and public relations.
Over the years, these issues have become the key impediments in generating valid knowledge internationally, and so this session is timely, as it seeks to better understand how research here can indeed provide valid knowledge, based upon robust methodologies, which are able to adapt and thrive in this dominated context.
This session provides a hard-hitting insight into an array of approaches and contexts of international educational leadership. With up to five ECRs, the session places a focus on methodologies and insights. Each ECR has 7 minutes to share to the group, so the information is purposefully condensed and referenced. There follows a general debate on the trends in research practice in this context.
The takeaways are portentous to researchers and practitioners. Through this session we aim to kick-start thinking and doing of research which is both critical and practical and can be of benefit to the many billions around the world who do not always benefit from democracy, free speech, and reflective practice.
We hope you can join us.
Please note, this event is free to BELMAS members and £5.00 for non-members. To ensure you receive your free ticket, please log in on the BELMAS website before booking.
