Join our host, Deirdra Preis, for the next #LunchtimeSession, when she will lead the discussion on ‘The Challenge of Developing Transformative School Leaders: Sharing Perspectives and Activities for Promoting Critical Introspection in Leader Candidates’.
Training school leadership candidates to develop their personal capacity to be transformative in their practices requires awareness, skill, and intentionality by faculty. How do we support them in uncovering implicit biases and beliefs that could interfere with their capacity to serve all students? How do we help them to develop clarity around their commitments to social justice in their educational practices? How do we promote reflexivity rather than mere reflection around how their positionalities impact their priorities and behaviors?
The goal of this lunchtime session is to share with each other our challenges and our successes in working intentionally with our leadership students – and to provide camaraderie and support to each other as we begin another year of training the next generation of school leaders. Come with strategies and questions to share with the group!
We look forward to seeing you there.
Please note, this event is free and open to all. Registration will close at midnight (UK) on Tuesday 22nd October.

We hosted a #LunchtimeSession on Thursday 24th October 2024, when Deirdra Preis took the reins and led the discussion on ‘The Challenge of Developing Transformative School Leaders: Sharing Perspectives and Activities for Promoting Critical Introspection in Leader Candidates’.
During the session, Deirdra explored how best to support training school leadership candidates, asking questions such as ‘How do we promote reflexivity rather than mere reflection around how their positionalities impact their priorities and behaviours?’, ‘How do we help them to develop clarity around their commitments to social justice in their educational practices?’, and ‘How do we support them in uncovering implicit biases and beliefs that could interfere with their capacity to serve all students?’.
Deirdra did this by encouraging the group to share their challenges and successes in working internationally with our leadership students, while offering support and camaraderie in the training of the next generation of school leaders.
If you missed this event or would like a recap, you can now watch it in full below.
A huge thanks to Deirdra for being a wonderful host, and to everyone who joined us for this session.
