Leadership in Early Years Education RIG: Call for Abstracts

As part of the new Myers Educational Publishing/BELMAS book series on Educational Leadership, we welcome expressions of interest for a new volume on Leadership in Early Years Education.

This is an exciting opportunity to increase Early Years representation within the field of Educational Leadership Literature, and we would love for our diverse membership to have the opportunity to share their valuable work in this area.

Please note, to submit an abstract, you must be a BELMAS Member.

Overarching Theme

The book will have an international focus​ and we are looking for chapter proposals that address one or more of the following areas:

• Constructs and diverse practices of EYE leadership​
• Contemporary issues for EYE leaders​
• Sustainable strategies for sector wide leadership development ​

Timeline:

• Abstracts due: Monday 7th September 2026
• Full chapters: TBC
• Full chapters due: TBC

Submissions:

Final chapters will be approximately 5,000 words in length.

If you are interested in contributing a chapter, please use the form linked below to submit the following:

• ​50-word bio sharing the background and/ or academic credentials of each contributing author for your proposed chapter​
• A statement about how this chapter contributes towards our understanding of leadership in Early Years Education
• 200-word abstract including:​
  • One or two sentences outlining your general focus/ specific issue​
  • Examples of existing theories/ research around this focus
