Would you like to help shape the future of the Critical Education Policy and Leadership Studies (CEPaLS) Research Interest Group?
CEPaLS brings together researchers and practitioners interested in critical perspectives on educational policy and leadership. As one of BELMAS’ longest-established Research Interest Groups, it provides an intellectually generative network for scholarship that recognises, describes, explains and theorises how different forms of power operate—particularly through education policy—to produce and reproduce social injustice in education and its leadership.
The RIG is also concerned with developing and promoting more socially just forms of educational leadership, policy and practice. Its current areas of interest include privatisation, corporatisation and governance; praxis and professionalism; power and the public; research methodology and knowledge production; post-globalisation; and the theorisation of educational leadership and policy.
BELMAS is now seeking a new Co-Convenor to work collaboratively with the existing Co-Convenor and the wider CEPaLS community. This is a voluntary role offering an opportunity to contribute to the intellectual development of the field, build connections among researchers and practitioners, and shape a programme of discussions, events and collaborative activity.
We would particularly welcome expressions of interest from people who:
Applicants need not hold a particular academic title or institutional position. We welcome applications from researchers working in different educational sectors, institutional settings and international contexts. The successful applicant will be, or will become, a member of BELMAS.
