Educational Management, Administration and Leadership Appointment of Associate Editors

Applications are invited from BELMAS members for up to three positions of Associate Editor of Educational Management, Administration and Leadership (EMAL).

The vacancies arise from the appointments of Dr. Pontso Moorosi, Dr. Alex McTaggart, and Dr. Susanne Sahlin to positions as Senior Associate Editors, with extended operational responsibilities.

EMAL is one of the world’s leading specialist educational leadership journals and is included in Q1 of the Social Sciences Citation Index (impact factor 3.3). The successful applicants will join the Editorial Board of EMAL. The role will involve:

• Contributing to strategic development of the journal.
• Advising on who should be awarded the annual Best Paper prizes.
• Scrutinising special issue proposals.
• Reviewing manuscripts as required (up to six papers a year).
• Attending the bi-annual Editorial Board meetings. The July meetings are ‘in-person’ at the London office of EMAL’s publishing partner, Sage, timed to link closely to the BELMAS Annual International Conference.  The winter meetings (typically held in November) are virtual.

Applicants should state why they would like the position, and how their qualifications and experience match the requirements of the position. In particular, details of publications in refereed journals, reviewing experience, and current editorial board responsibilities, should be outlined.

Applications are welcomed from both UK and international BELMAS members and will be considered by the current Editorial Board.

The positions are not remunerated but reasonable expenses, for example to attend Editorial Board meetings, may be paid.
