The latest #LunchtimeSession entitled ‘Redesigning the EdD to Prepare Scholarly Practitioners: The Carnegie Project on the Education (CPED) Approach’, took place on Thursday 4th December 2025, with host, Jill Perry.
The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) is a consortium of 165 universities in the United States, Canada, and Ireland committed to reimagining the EdD through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Through the guides of a member developed Framework, the EdD is being repositioned as the highest professional doctorate in Education with aims of preparing practitioners to apply theory, scholarship, and research to improve practice.
In this session, we learnt about CPED, its Framework, and how doctoral preparation can result in Scholarly Practitioners.
