WATCH: Lunchtime Session July 2025 with Alice Bradbury and Gemma Moss

Back to News

We hosted a #LunchtimeSession on Thursday 17the July 2025, when Professor Alice Bradbury and Professor Gemma Moss took the reins and led the discussion on ‘Primary Education in Challenging Times: What Research Can Do’.

During this online webinar, our hosts considered the crucial role primary schools play in their communities at times of profound social crisis. Drawing on a sequence of research projects exploring the impacts of COVID-19 and the cost-of-living crisis on primary schools, we explored why the system as it stands ignores the social value of education, yet teachers feel morally compelled to act.

We also considered the role research can play in determining tactics and targets that might help things change, and reset the agenda in education.

If you missed this event or would like a recap, you can now watch it in full below.

A huge thanks to Alice and Gemma for being such informative hosts, and to everyone who joined us for this session.
