The 2023 BELMAS Awards – Nominate Now!

We’re thrilled to announce that nominations are now open for the 2023 BELMAS Awards!

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 15th July at this year’s BELMAS Conference in Belfast, during which the winners will be announced.

There are four awards being determined by the Awards, Bursaries and Grants Committee and the Editors of EMAL and MiE, which are:

  • EMAL Best Paper
  • MiE Best Paper
  • Conference Best Paper
  • ECR Conference Best Paper

Then there are three further awards which can be nominated for by YOU! These are:

  • The Distinguished Service Award
  • The Doctoral Thesis Award
  • Best BELMAS Blog

Please see below for the criteria of each award…

Distinguished Service Award (BELMAS Members ONLY)
For this award, the panel are looking for someone who has:

  • Significantly contributed to BELMAS work in the field of Educational Leadership, Management and Administration
  • “Moved knowledge forward” within the Society and the wider community

Doctoral Thesis Award (BELMAS Members ONLY)
For this award, the panel are looking for a thesis which:

  • Disseminates ideas which advance, or challenge, concepts of leadership and management and their relationship with educational improvement
  • Encourages collaboration, or debate, among academics, practitioners and policymakers within and across educational sectors
  • Promotes reflective and research-based approaches to leadership and management
  • This must be nominated by Supervisors and will then be sent to our Awards, Bursaries and Grants Committee to be assessed

Best BELMAS Blog Post (Open)
Nominations for the Best BELMAS Blog Award should:

  • Disseminate ideas which advance, or challenge, concepts of leadership and management and their relationship with educational improvement
  • Encourage collaboration, or debate, among academics, practitioners and policymakers within and across educational sectors
  • Promote reflective and research-based approaches to leadership and management
  • Have been published on the BELMAS blog in the time period of 2022 – present

The form will only accept one nomination per category. To nominate for another category, please fill in the form again and choose the category you’re nominating for. Only one nomination per category per person will be accepted.

Nominations close at midnight (UK) on Sunday 11th June. Feel free to share this post amongst fellow BELMAS members and peers.
